Through A Squinted Eye

Furthermore Into Reality

I have deliberated upon the lost sanctity of a fair wage before, but I still teeter the line of drastic change.  For example someone of managerial status earning less than the employee cleaning up the trash is more than absurd, but my reality. Thus, if I were to poll for reactions from readers, passers by, a bartender, and about anyone in our culture really, I know what the resounding answers to my dilemma would be.  “Demand a raise,” or “you should quit, they obviously don’t respect you and probably never will.”

Well I have taken the first approach with cautious tact, however I am now in limbo of waiting to find out if my respect will be honored.  The question now is do I continue to wait or begin to look at the second approach.

Interestingly enough I did read an article from M about False Alternatives.  Basically I have presented my situation and offered only two solutions (well three 3 if you consider just taking it like a …). The thing is that I am not starving and neither is my wife.  Yet, we do not have children that would drastically change our current status. So beyond this rambling, I ask for any offerings of the grey shades.  What is in-between, to the side, or uncovered. Perhaps the best choices have already been presented.
